Abstract

This record survey was conducted to collect data on the state of case examinations of members of organized crime with the often suggested point that the punishment of organized criminals is often too lenient and inconsistent. For this purpose the information on examination of offenses of 2,460 suspects were reviewed based on the 1,037 cases of organized crime that were indicted by the prosecution and proceeded to trial from 2002 to 2006 and its written arraignments and rulings (1st-3rd), among these the crime records and the terms of weighing of the offense of those 961 who were sentenced to prison during the 1st trial were recorded. The record includes contents on title of crime, record of involvement in organized crime, criminal record prior to crime, relationship to victim, circumstances surrounding crime, motive for crime, method of crime, damages caused by crime, and results of 1st and 2nd hearings.
