Abstract

The「EAI·JoongAng Daily·CCFR International Public Opinion Survey on Attitudes towards Foreign Countries」is an international opinion survey conducted biennially since 2004 among the citizens of major countries including Korea and the US by the East Asia Institute and the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations to follow the changes in the views of Koreans and people worldwide on major global issues and to strengthen the theoretical research on elements that determine global views.
This survey was conducted as a follow-up to the first survey of the「EAI·JoongAng Daily·CCFR International Public Opinion Survey on Attitudes towards Foreign Countries, 2004」 conducted in July of 2004 (KOSSDA data number: A1-2004-0014) among political and foreign affairs experts to supplement the limitations of the public opinion survey in areas such as foreign affairs and security that require professional knowledge and objective information.
The questionnaire includes contents on Korea-US relations, South-North relations, foreign policy, North Korea, reunification, North Korea policy, Sunshine policy, economic aid, North Korean nuclear weapons, international organizations, UN, WHO, WTO, international trade, US troops in Korea, dispatch of troops, political attitude, voting, and attitude towards national security.
