Abstract

As corporations are aggressively seeking to reform problems of high cost and low efficiency through restructuring there is an increasing demand for human resource management efforts for workers’ employment security. The 「Survey on Corporate Human Resource Management and Employment Adjustment」 was conducted to collect data to analyze the state of Korean corporations’ employment adjustment and its results to seek measures for the minimization of side effects of a flexible labor market. The survey was first conducted in 1997 and was conducted in two parts in 1998, and this data was collected in 1997. The questionnaire includes contents on state of management, state of human resource management, state of wage management, state of employment adjustment, work hours adjustment, employee size adjustment, functional adjustment, changes in corporate structure, outlook on recruitment adjustment, and plans for recruitment adjustment.
