Kim, Ji Sun / Korean Institute of Criminology
The rulings on juvenile protection cases, unlike regular criminal cases where punishment decisions are based on the responsibility suitable to the criminal act, are treated with less interest and lack empirical data. The purpose of this survey is to gather preliminary data to promote the study of the process and elements of juvenile protection decisions and the suitability evaluation of such decisions. The questionnaire includes contents on broken families, reason for broken family, mental illness, state of health, IQ, the family’s wage earner, parent’s supervision and discipline, criminal record of guardian, school life, peer relations, and experience of deviant behavior.
