Abstract
The 「Survey on Users of Philopon」 was conducted by the Korean Institute of Criminology to examine the state of methamphetamine (Philopon) use currently known as the most widely used drug in Korea to provide data for the establishment of measures to prevent the further spread of drug abuse. The survey was conducted among inmates imprisoned for the violation of laws on narcotics, cannabis control, and psychotropic drugs control. The questionnaire includes contents on process of philopon use, period of use, process of arrest, criminal record, and opportunity for abuse, reason for abuse, method of administration, location of administration, channel of purchase, symptoms of addiction, efforts to overcome addiction, result of philopon abuse, opinion on the punishment of abusers, and life in prison.

<표본추출과정>
마약법, 대마관리법, 향정신성의약품 관리법 위반으로 수감되어 있는 사범을 모두 포함하여 마약류 사범의 수를 기준으로 조사대상 집단인 교도소를 표집하였다. 마약류 사범의 수감인원이 많은 순서대로 공주, 부산, 마산 교도소를 선정하였으며, 20세 미만의 MAP 남용자를 포함시키기 위해서 김천 소년교도소를 선정하였다. 인천 소년교도소에는 마약류 사범이 2명 포함되어 있지만 MAP 사범이 아니어서 제외시켰다.
