Abstract

The Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency planned to conduct a survey on worker’s state of health and working environment every 5 years starting in 1998. The purpose of this survey is to examine the state of health and health management of workers at their job sites to get an understanding of the state of industrial health management at the workplace to provide basic data for the establishment of worker health related policy. This is the 1st year survey of the「Worker’s Health Survey in Korea」and falls under the first out of the two categories of workplace survey and worker survey. The questionnaire is composed of the following contents: record of industrial disaster and workplace injuries, record of missing work due to illness, industrial management program, status of industrial safety and health structure in the workplace, work affinity, and the management’s level of interest and participation in health related issues.
