Abstract

This survey was conducted for the purpose of establishing fundamental data needed for instituting a supply and demand policy for a smooth labor market, by investigating the desire for and state of female employment. The 「Survey on Acceleration of Female Worker Employment」was conducted among the unemployed, employed, and companies, and this survey is of unemployed females. The questionnaire is composed of employment experience, job search, job training, family’s attitude, and employment facilitation measures. The employment experience section deals with questions on previous employment industry and position, time and reason for resignation, and job search sections includes topics of intention of employment, preferable working hours, position, salary level, recent job search activities, and job search channels. The job training section includes questions of education, contents and form of education, and reasons for not being educated. The family’s attitude section deals with spouse’s occupation, position, salary level, and the attitudes of spouse, in laws, and parents towards employment. Questions on employment facilitation measures include compatibility of work and housework, utilization of child care facilities, and the evaluation of female labor utilization system.
