Abstract
The「Survey on the Long Term Care of the Elderly」 was conducted for the purposes of understanding the special needs of the elderly under long term care as well as the capacity and burden of support felt by the caretaking family members and the use of elderly welfare services to collect data to aid the establishment of welfare policies for the elderly needing long term care. The survey was conducted separately among seniors living alone, average seniors, and caretakers, and this data was collected from independent seniors. The questionnaire includes contents on family composition, relationship with children, physical state, psychological state, needed services, current state and intention of future use of elderly welfare services, social relations, residential environment, financial state, state of financial dependence within family, and life satisfaction.
