Abstract

Disposition No.4 is a system prescribing custody to child welfare and juvenile correctional facilities according to child welfare laws. Disposition No.4 is ordered mostly in cases where there is a lack of proper guardians for supervision due to a broken family or the young age of the juvenile delinquent, and disposition No.4 facilities are mainly run by religious or social welfare organizations. The survey was conducted to compile data useful for the establishment of more effective systems for the guidance of juvenile delinquents by gaining an accurate understanding of the management status of disposition No.4 facilities. The questionnaire includes contents on the size of facility, history of facility, financial status, employee status, employee training and education, volunteer status, relationship with other related organizations, relationship with local residents, services provided, programs provided, status of juveniles under custody, and characteristics of juveniles under custody.
