Abstract

The 「Survey on the Lives of Adolescents」 is a survey research conducted every other year by the Korean Institute of Criminology to understand the lives, value system, state of delinquency, and crime victimization of adolescents. The survey was conducted four times from 1995 to 2003 and each year a core research topic was chosen and including diverse questions on the topic allowed for the in depth research of the lives of adolescents. In 1995 attitude towards law and delinquency was chosen as the main topic followed by crime victimization in 1999 and contact with obscenities on the internet in 2003. This data was collected in 2003 and includes contents on relationship with parents, school life, peer relations, computer use, experience of delinquency, experience of contact with obscenity/pornography on the internet, frequency of contact, contact channel, site of contact, length of contact, age at first contact, feeling after contact, experience of contact with obscenity/pornography other than through the internet, attitude towards obscenity/pornography, sexual urges, attitude towards gender roles, sexual awareness, and view on opposite sex.
