Abstract

Rape, as the most serious form of sexual crime, is on a dramatic rise and with its increasing brutality and involvement of younger age groups its gravity is becoming increasingly evident. The survey was conducted to collect data useful for the provision of measures on the problems and state of rape in Korea through research and record surveys. This data was collected from currently imprisoned inmates and the questionnaire includes contents on family relations during adolescence, peer relations during adolescence, occupation immediately prior to imprisonment, standard of living before imprisonment, hobby prior to imprisonment, leisure activities prior to imprisonment, experience of drug use, mental illness, other crimes, sexual relations prior to crime, standards for evaluating rape, title of crime, existence of a coconspirator, involvement of alcohol at the time of crime, drug use at the time of crime, physical violence at the time of crime, location of crime, area of crime, time of crime, season of crime, target of crime, coconspirator, relations with victim, and fear of punishment.
