Although the argument that sexual stimulation through the mass media has harmful influences on youths and that it incites sexual crimes is generally accepted, it is difficult to find studies on what influences such experience have on the self-identity and social relationships of youths. This survey was designed to examine the state of contact with the mass media of Korean youths and to promote the empirical study of arguments on the effects of sexual representation. Ultimately, it aims to reevaluate the legal basis surrounding restriction on the freedom of expression. The questionnaire includes contents on contact with the mass media, contact with adult content, lasciviousness of the media, gender roles, residential conditions, residential environment, personality, experience of deviation and delinquency, and sexual violence.
