Abstract

Recently, reformatories have been converted into a system of specialized schools.「Survey on the Educational Activities of Training Schools」was conducted to examine the characteristics of the curriculum of the specialized school system and to offer data for the examination of changes in the curriculum and its outcomes and problems. The ultimate goal of this study is to establish a curriculum and measures to provide substantial support for students after their return to society.
The survey was conducted among students and staff, and this data was collected from students in training schools. The questionnaire includes contents on experience of spending time in a training school, type of delinquency, details of delinquency, school life prior to admission to training school, life at training school, course content of training school, and plans for after release from training school.
