Abstract
본 연구는 구금시설에서의 수용자의 외부교통 욕구를 보장과 우려의 괴리속에서 "수용자의 외부 교통 확대 방안"을 심도 있게 연구하여 교정보호의 선진화 방안을 모색해야 하는 당면과제의 해결을 일조하는데 그 목적이 있다. 조사내용으로는 수형자 접견제도, 귀휴제도, 가족접견제도, 외부통근작업 등에 대한 집중조명과 분석을 실시하여 그 결과를 바탕으로 수용자의 외부교통을 확대할 수 있는 구체적 방안들을 모색해 보았다.

<표본추출과정>
가족만남의집 이용현황에 대한 법무부의 통계자료를 사용하여 연도별 총 사용인원을 파악한뒤, 가족만남의 집이 설치된 전국 8개 교도소 가운데 가장 오래된 5개 교도와 유일한 여자교도소인 청주여자 교도소를 방문하였다. 가족만남의 집을 경험한 수형자와 경험하지 못한 수형자를 함께 대상에 포함시켰다. 5개 교소소에서 각기 20명의 체험자와 60명의 미체험자를 조사하고 여자교도소에서 미체험자 80명을 조사할 계획을 가졌다.
