Abstract
There have been indications that the problem of drug abuse is currently on the rise. However, there is still a lack of research on the average citizens’ attitude towards drug abuse. This survey was designed as the very first attempt in Korea to conduct a comprehensive research on drug abuse on a national level and aims to examine the scale of drug abuse, most popularly used type of drug, reason for using drugs and channel of purchase, and the evaluation of the average citizens on the policy on drugs. Furthermore, it aims to promote a diverse study on countermeasures for resolving the drug abuse problem. The questionnaire is composed of contents on experience of drug use, experience of psychotropic drug use, experience of drinking or smoking, opinion on drug abuse, treatment and countermeasures for drug abuse, personal relationships, experience of punishment for drug abuse, and values system.
