Abstract

The「Survey on the Welfare Need and Support Measures for Youths」is a survey research conducted by the Korea Institute for Youth Development founded on the ideals of human rights to understand the welfare needs and problems of youths and to gather data necessary for the establishment of related policies. The survey was conducted among student youths, working youths, runaway youths, and disabled youths, and this data was collected from disabled youths suffering from mental retardation.
The questionnaire is designed based on the concept of needs classified into four types including existence need, development need, protection need, and participation need, and is composed of contents including food, clothing, and shelter, healthcare and health, family, school, neighborhood, everyday experiences at the workplace, educational activities, cultural activities, informational activities, leisure activities, hobbies, community service, human rights, and sense of participation.
