Abstract

Residents of rural areas are migrating to the city to find new jobs. It is expected that urban migration, changes in family relations within rural society, community structure, and social relations will have a significant effect on the life styles and values of rural residents. This survey was conducted to examine the life and attitudes of rural residents. The questionnaire is largely divided into the daily lives of rural residents, social attitudes, and religious life.
The questions on daily life includes period of residence, experience of migration, plans to migrate, exchange of work, day laborer, outing, land property, farming income, side job, debt, occupation, experience of changing jobs, intention of job change, and subjective stratum. The questions on social attitudes include values, outlook on life, importance of gender education, social support, social network, and folk beliefs. The questions on religious life includes belief in the existence of the soul, afterlife, Christianity, process of entering Christianity, main reason for attending church, community leader, and newspaper subscription.
