Conflict Resolution Methods of Koreans, 2005 : With a Focus on Violence

During the last century Korean society has undergone rapid modernization which brought on increased social differentiation and heterogeneity, leading individuals to face various conflicts in their daily lives. This study is an attempt to understand how violence as means of resolving conflict is adopted in conflict situations in everyday life in Korea and to investigate methods of promoting a safe and healthy everyday life. This study investigates conflict within the family, conflict in the workplace, conflict with friends or senior/junior fellows, conflict with neighbors, and the respondents’ experiences and characteristics as well as social and demographic backgrounds.
