Abstract
This survey was conducted to collect preliminary data for the「Chuncheon Report」a study of regional communities. The「Chuncheon Report」was conducted a total of four times from 1991 to 2008 is a sociological study of the Chuncheon area which dealt primarily with the structure and changes in regional society, and the lives and consciousness of local residents. This data was collected to be utilized in the 2008 study「Chuncheon Report 4: Chuncheon in the Open Era」and is comprised of the daily lives of Chunchen citizens, their financial activities, political attitudes, social relations, and regional consciousness.
Questions on daily life include participation in group activities, main leisure activity, frequency of utilizing leisure facilities, use of the internet, frequency of dining out, and level of satisfaction of cultural activities, and questions on financial activities include state of employment, occupational status, size of workplace, job satisfaction, occupation, monthly average income, evaluation of the Chuncheon area employment market, overall level of life satisfaction, and perception of level of inequality.
Questions on political attitude include party identification, evaluation of local government, political efficacy, experience of administrative disadvantage, subjective political tendency, and evaluation of government administration, and questions on social relations include number of trusted acquaintances, frequency of contact with acquaintance, degree of trust in average people, and degree of credibility of major institutions.
Lastly questions on regional consciousness include representative image of Chuncehon, identity as a Chuncheon citizen, distance felt towards outsiders, evaluation of living conditions, evaluation of regional development, regional issues of priority, effects of improvements in transportation network, and intention of migration.
