Sampling Procedure

Quota Sampling Procedure
1) Sampling of Middle school: Seoul was segmented into four regions, first into the north and south of Han River, and each of which was further divided into eastern and western areas. For final sampling, two schools from each of the four regions, making up a total of eight schools, were randomly selected from the list of middle schools given by the Office of Education in respective regions.
2) Sampling of High School : Taking into account the number of schools, six general high schools and two vocational high schools in Seoul were sampled. For sampling of general high schools, Seoul was divided into six regions, first into the north and south of Han River, and each of which was further divided into eastern, middle, and western areas. For final sampling, one school from each of the six regions, making up a total of six schools, was randomly selected. As for vocational high schools, two schools were randomly selected from Seoul area.
3) From eight middle schools and seven high schools(one general high school refused to participated in the survey), two classes in each grade were selected for final survey.
