Abstract

A relatively low level of interest in the issue of occupational health and safety exists though it is directly related to the lives and health of workers and acts as a significant element of corporate competitiveness. The 「Occupational Safety and Health Survey in Korea」aims to provide fundamental data for future policy support and establishment of preventive measures through an in depth examination of the present conditions of the workplace in relation to occupational safety and health from various viewpoints. It also aims to create a safety-health index and propose long-term policy through the results of the annually conducted time-series analysis. The questionnaire includes the following contents: general conditions of workplace, status of accidents, safety and health related investments, management and training status, management conditions of safety and health, and understanding of safety and health issues and related activities.
