In 1987 the Ministry of Labor conducted the「Survey on Labor Relations and Professional Ethics in Korea」to gather preliminary data for the establishment of desirable labor relations and investigate the professional ethics of Koreans. On a continuation of the 1987 survey the Ministry of Labor conducted the「Survey on Labor Relations and Fostering Labor Unions」to investigate measures for fostering labor unions. The questionnaire includes contents on labor environment, welfare benefits and facilities, job satisfaction, company’s handling of grievances, intention of job change, attitude towards management, evaluation of labor relations, elements determining labor relations, need for labor union, participation in collective action, evaluation of collective action, government’s labor policy, membership and participation in labor union, evaluation of labor union activities.
