East Asia Institute

The East Asia Institute is a representative think tank organization in Korea that conducts research and policy development on key issues at home and abroad, and spreads ideas through various activities such as international conferences, forums, education, and publications. It operates eight research centers, the ones covering national security, regional research in East Asia, and public opinion survey, and conducts research to produce policy alternatives and make opinions on important national issues and social ones. As main research works, it conducts a survey of Koreans' identity every five years since 2005, which studies on perceptions of Koreans' looking at themselves. It also does election panel surveys and public opinion surveys on political issues at major domestic elections, working together with the press agency.
